The Cleveland Clinic athletic trainers serving Brunswick City Schools are committed to delivering exceptional, student‑centered sports medicine care. Our mission is to protect the health, safety, and long‑term well‑being of every Blue Devil by providing expert injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services grounded in the highest clinical standards.
We believe that athletics is an extension of the classroom, and we work every day to support student‑athletes as whole people. Through clear communication, education, and collaboration with coaches, families, and school staff, we strive to create an environment where athletes feel supported, informed, and confident in their ability to perform and recover responsibly.
As part of the Brunswick community, we are dedicated to fostering resilience, promoting lifelong healthy habits, and ensuring that every student has access to compassionate, professional care. Our purpose is simple: to help young people grow through sport and to stand beside them; on the field, in the training room, and throughout their athletic journey.

Brunswick is proud to have two exceptional athletic trainers supporting our student‑athletes through a partnership with the Cleveland Clinic: Kara Vecchio and Steve Hart. Their expertise, dedication, and genuine care make them invaluable members of our athletic community.
Kara Vecchio brings a strong background in sports medicine and a passion for helping athletes stay healthy, confident, and prepared. She is known for her calm, supportive approach and her ability to connect with students, ensuring they feel heard and cared for both on and off the field.
Steve Hart adds deep clinical knowledge and years of hands‑on experience working with athletes of all levels. His commitment to injury prevention, rehabilitation, and athlete education helps keep our teams performing at their best throughout every season.
Together, Kara and Steve provide comprehensive care; from evaluating injuries and coordinating treatment to guiding safe return‑to‑play decisions. Their partnership with the Cleveland Clinic ensures Brunswick athletes receive top‑tier medical support backed by one of the nation’s leading healthcare systems.
